- Don’t walk through the parks at night, especially the Valley Village park. It gets sketchy at night, as homeless people and riff-raff take over the park.
- Learn the layout of the area. Avoid going into the northern parts of North Hollywood at night. The northern part is anything above Victory or Burbank.
- Don’t wear expensive jewelry or watches or flash anything of value.
- Don’t engage or make eye contact with homeless people. Just keep walking.
- The public transportation system is not the best in North Hollywood. You best options for getting around town is by car.
- Don’t wander around aimlessly at night. Know exactly where you are going and how to get there and back.
- Walk with confidence, like you know where you are going.
- Don’t walk down any alleys or unlit areas at night. Avoid going down streets that look desolate.
- Don’t be a walking advertisement. Avoid wearing expensive jewelry or watches or anything like that.
- Don’t walk around at night. Drive, take an Uber or get a taxi.
- Don’t use the public transportation at night.

North Hollywood is only safe at night in certain sections of the city. It is not particularly safe to be walking through sections of northern North Hollywood at night. Stay below Burbank blvd.
