In 1830, William Stafford started a plantation that had a horse-powered cotton gin and cane mill. It was burned down during the Texas Revolution, but he had it rebuilt and a settlement was established around the site.
In 1884, Stafford had just 50 residents, with almost 18,000 in the 2010 census.

2. Stafford Centre of Performing Arts

The Stafford Centre opened up in early 2004 with an epic lineup on opening weekend to fulfill the mayor’s vision to bring entertainment and arts to Fort Bend County.
The $28 million state-of-the-art facility houses 100,000 square feet of a performing arts theater, a convention center, and fields for festivals.
Due to the array of uses, this Centre is a cultural leader and has shifted the perception of the city from a strictly industrial town to one that has culture.
The Performance Art Theatre has 1,105 seats, cutting edge light and sound technology, and a full size orchestra pit. Events range from motivational speakers to comedians to plays and dances.
The Convention Centre includes a 20,000 square foot ballroom and nearly 5,000 square foot meeting space. The rooms have everything a convention would need such as fiber optic cables, audio and visual feeds, and electricity. You’ll also find a full-size commercial kitchen with a walk-in freezer and fridge!

3. Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park
Urban Air creates a safe place for the whole family to play!
Expect for it to be packed on a weekend, holiday, or if the weather is bad.
They have rope climbing, trampolines, rock climbing, a ball pit, and an air rope slide. This is the perfect place to go if you’re traveling with little ones!
4. Buffalo Run Park

Buffalo Run Park is a beautiful nature park with three covered pavilions, an observation tower, natural trails, fishing piers, a public boat ramp, a sand volleyball court, and restrooms. Its four lakes (you read that right!) are connected by boats.
There are two miles of trail to walk or job and nearly 50 acres of surface water!
Expect to watch birds and waterfowl. Bring your binoculars to see something spectacular.

5. BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir
The Mandir is a place to pray and worship for followers of Hinduism. Its sacred images and worship ceremonies help elevate the soul and realize God according to Hindu philosophy.

6. Bowlero Stafford
Bowlero Stafford offers 32 bowling lanes, an arcade, billiards and pool, air hockey, a sports bar, lounge area, and an ATM. It is wheelchair accessible.

7. Eternal Gandhi Museum
Mahatma Gandhi is world renowned for his commitment to equality, justice, and human rights through nonviolent conflict resolution that helped people in the Indian subcontinent achieve independence.
The Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston is a project with the purpose of preserving and continuing his legacy. The museum is in Houston, which is one of the most diverse cities in the US. It’s the first ever museum in America dedicated to Gandhi.
The Museum’s vision is simple: by practicing nonviolent conflict resolution, visitors- especially youth- can create change in their communities and personal lives.
The museum is expected to open in early 2023.

The Texas Gun Club is “The highest rated gun range in the Houston area.” It’s a gun store that also has a luxury shooting range.

11. Fountain Lake Park
Fountain Lake Park is a perfectly sized, well-looked-after park that has a jogging trail featuring adult exercise equipment, as well as playgrounds for the little ones.
Even if there are a few other families and joggers, it won’t feel crowded because of the multitude of benches and picnic tables.
Their trail is easy on your knees because it’s dirt and gravel. This is the perfect place for sunsets and bird watching.

12. Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen
Pappadeaux won’t let you down! Their special- the Paparella Pasta- is to die for. It comes with scallions but feel free to swap it out to your liking (may we suggest the andouille sausage!)
Some die-hard locals have been going for over two decades and have watched the restaurant evolve over the years.
The atmosphere is authentic and service is impeccable. Their dishes are presented beautifully, despite the instant overflow of diners.
