The 19 Best Huntington Beach Restaurants:
Mama’s On 39
Mama’s On 39 is one of the highest rated restaurant in Huntington Beach and for good reason.
The food here is American comfort food and this is the type of restaurant where you can always be 100% confident that whatever you order, whether it be an omelette, french toast, burgers, salads or sandwiches, the food will always be phenomenal.
I’m a sucker for their breakfast, specifically their Lumberjack Breakfast, which comes with a ham steak, bacon, sausage, two fried eggs and two pancakes. A nap is definitely required after consuming such a meal.
They have a full bar if you want to get your drank on andddddddd they also have a Thrifty’s ice-cream station inside! You can watch them use the cylinder scoop to dig out the ice cream. It doesn’t get any better than that!

TK Burger
TK Burger is an institution of the city and a burger place that needs no introduction. When you ask any Huntington Beach local, where they can get a solid burger, 95% of the respondents will say TK Burger.
TK Burger makes one of the best burgers in Orange County.
Before I went to TK Burger for the first time, I had some doubts about the legitamcy of their burger. It looked too simple to have so much fanfare. There nothing fancy about it. There’s no truffle or fancy cheese or obscure toppings. It looked like a simple backyard barbecue burger that your uncles cooks up on Labor Day Weekend.
Boy was I wrong. The first bite made me see the light! It absolutely lived up to the hype and it was only then that I realized that a TK burger doesn’t need anything fancy to make it good. It’s just a very well made and very tasty burger that revels in it simplicity.
Oh and you can get a TK burger with fries for under $10. What a deal!

Beale’s Texas BBQ
Put Beale’s on your itinerary if you want to taste the best BBQ restaurant in Huntington Beach.
Beale’s story starts in owner, Brett Beale’s backyard, where he would often cook for friends and family, who often nudged him to start his own restaurant. Although reluctant at first, Beale started to entertain the idea after competing in BBQ competitions in Texas.
His restaurant came to fruition in 2015 in Fontana and later in 2020 in Huntington Beach.
So how’s the food? Fan-freakin-tastic! The barbecue is competition grade bbq and is constantly being refined to get to as close as perfection as possible. It took Beale two years to perfect his 24 hour smoked brisket, which has resulted in one of the most perfect tasting brisket we ever had

ROL is strictly dedicated to perfecting the sushi hand roll and they are doing a damn fine job of it. I’ve had the chance to eat here on several occasions and every time I had nothing but a stellar experience.
All the rolls are incredibly delightful and are the perfect combination of rice, sushi and accoutrements.
You can order individual rolls or from a pre-set menu, with 5,6, and 7 rolls options. They have plenty of appetizers to warm up the palate and their craft cocktails help make this place a wonderful dining experience.

Da Hawaiian Kitchen
It’s not hard to argue that Da Hawaiian Kitchen is the best Hawaiian restaurant in Huntington Beach and possibly all of Orange County.
The food here is super authentic and tasty and could definitely hold its own on the Big Island.
You will find all your favorite Hawaiian staples here like Loco Moco, Kalua Pork, Poke, Kalbi Ribs, Lomi Salmon and Teriyaki Chicken.
They also have a signature fried chicken that is extremely delicious. The skin is super crispy and the meat is moist and tender. Pair it with rice and macraoni salad and you have yourself a delicious meal worth telling all your friends about.

Subculture Extraordinary Sandwiches
Submarine sandwiches are the name of the game at Subculture and they are crafting some really killer hoagies that will delight your tastebuds!
These sandwiches will blow anything that Jersey Mikes or Firehouse Subs serves out of the water.
I have two favorite subs. The Club, which is packed with turkey, ham, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese and sandwiched between their baked dutch crunch bread. If you never had Dutch crunch, you will be in a for a treat!
Also the GodMOTHER, which rivals the Godmother from Bay Cities Deli. It is a thing of beauty with salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone, pesto and sundried tomato. One bite of this thing and you will understand why this is one of the best Huntington Beach restaurants.

Ola Mexican Kitchen
With spectacular views of the beach and the boardwalk, amazing food, drinks and ambiance, Ola Mexican Kitchen has everything you need to have a memorable lunch or dinner dining experience in Huntington Beach
You are going to find classic Mexican fare with items like tacos, burritos, carnitas, fajitas and enchiladas on the menu.
Here’s my recommendation: Order yourself a refreshing margarita with some guac and chips. When you are ready for the main course, get the carnitas plate or the 3-taco plate with pork belly, chicken tinga and chile relleno. And if you somehow manage to have some room left in the tank, get the caramel stuffed churros with vanilla bean ice-cream. This is a recipe for success!

Slater’s 50/50
Slater’s 50/50 is our favorite spot among other Huntington Beach restaurants to indulge! Don’t come here f you are looking for something healthy.
Slater’s is known for the 50/50 patty, which is made of 50% ground bacon and 50% ground beef, which really sets the tone for the rest of the menu.
A menu which includes things like Pork-a-Palooza, a flight of bacon prepared in 5 different ways, including crispy pork belly with jalapeño-bacon jam and bacon salt & vinegar chicharron.
Other things you will find on the menu include: bacon mac and cheese balls, garlic-parmesean loaded fries, spaghetti and bacon meatballs, and many varieties of artery clogging burgers, including a Peanut Butter & Jellousy, which consists of angus beef, thick-cut bacon, peanut butter, strawberry jelly and of course a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Having trouble navigating the menu? Here’s some suggestions that you can’t go wrong with.
Definitely get the Tom Rang Thit Ba Chi, caramelized prawns with pork spare ribs and rice. This dish is packed with flavor and is a favorite among patrons. Another can’t miss dish is the Shaky Shaky Beef, cubes of filet mignon is perfect marinated and cooked and served with a side of fried rice.

Market Broiler
Fancy some seafood? Get in your car and drive down to Market Broiler, one of our favorite Huntington Beach restaurants. They have all things seafood to satiate your aquatic cravings and
Their menu has everything and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING! Oysters, poke, crab cakes, shrimp, mussels, swordfish, seabass, steaks, fish and chips, burgers, salads and tons more!
My favorite thing to order is the Fisherman’s Stew. It comes with a little bit of everything including: lobster, shrimp, scallops, king crab, clams, calamari, mussels and fish fillet and served with garlic bread for dipping.
Their drink menu is equally impressive with a great selection of craft cocktails, craft beers and fine wines.
Happy Hour is Monday through Friday 2:00 – 6:30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1pm – 5pm, where you can get great deals on appetizers, entrees, beer, wine and other cocktails.
Sancho’s Tacos
If you are looking for a Mexican restaurant that’s located right next to the beach, Sancho’s Tacos is the spot that not only offers up great views, but is also serving up some of the best Mexican food in Huntington Beach.
I haven’t had everything on the menu, but I tried a significant amount of it and can confidently suggest a few items that are impossible to dissatisfy.
1) Breakfast Burrito – It’s hard to go wrong with this one. The burrito is stuffed with eggs, potato, cheese and sausage or bacon…or both!
2) Carnitas Grande Qusadilla – A massive quesadilla stuffed with cheese and fall of the bone carnitas. Nuff said.
3) NotCho Fries – This is their version of carne-asada fries and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a gooey, cheesy, meaty and french fry filled affair.
4) Any Tacos – All the tacos are great. The Skrimp and the Federale are my favorites.

North Shore Poke
There are tons of poke places in Huntington Beach and the surrounding areas, but none do it better than North Shore Poke. This place serves up poke like they do on the Big Island and its incredible!
Located in Downtown Huntington Beach, the concept here is similar to many other poke places where you create your own bowl from scratch. There’s no wrong way to do it. All paths lead to a concoction of deliciousness.
They also have sandwiches, tacos and nachos if you aren’t in the mood for poke.
Aside from the food being delicious as hell, another great feature of North Shore Poke is that it just a 5 minute walk from the beach. You can order your bowl, take a leisurely stroll down the street and enjoy your bowl, while listening to the waves crash against the tide.

Romano Cucina
Ask any local what the best Italian restaurant in Huntington Beach is and 9/10 people will confidently say Romano Cucina.
The restaurant prides itself on its authentic home-cooked Italian cuisine and it really delivers on all fronts. Whatever you order, whether it be pizza, sphagetti, lasagna, or shrimp scampi, you can always be 100% certain that the food will always go above and beyond your expectations. This is the way at Romano Cucina. There is nothing on the menu that isn’t worth ordering.
Save some room for dessert because the spumoni and the cannoli is out of this world! And yes, get both!

Secret Spot Cafe
The Secret Spot is not so secret among locals and is one of the best places to eat in Huntington Beach for a clean and healthy meal. It’s actually a very well known spot that is also very friendly to vegetarians and vegans with many options available to them.
The menu has an extensive mix of breakfast and lunch selections, including: breakfast burritos, scrambles, pancakes, sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps and tacos.
You can’t go wrong with the vegan breakfast burrito, which consists of grilled onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, potatoes, avocado, and wrapped snugly in a tomato tortilla.
Everything is reasonably priced and one thing I love about this restaurant is that I always leave full and content with the knowledge that I provided my body with a healthy source of nutrients that day.
17200 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA 92649
BUNZ
BUNZ should definitely get a top spot for best burger restaurant in Huntington Beach. It even made our list of best burgers in Orange County.
What I love about BUNZ is that you can walk out of there with a top-tier burger, fries and a drink for around $10, unlike other restaurants, *cough Five Guys*, where it cost a damn arm and a leg to get an inferior product.
If you have no qualms about your health, get the pastrami cheeseburger, throw an egg on it and order yourself a side of crispy onion rings. Wash it all down with an oreo shake and say goodnight for a couple hours, because your are going to need a damn nap after that type of decadence.

One restaurant we ALL agreed had to be on our guide of the best Huntington Beach restaurants is Sandy’s Beach Shack.

Some highlights of their menu include the spanakopita, risotto, baked brie, tuna tartare, paella and Brussels sprouts with chorizo.
